Week17 News

Dear Parents,

Chinese New Year is coming on January 23rd. We are planning to have a Chinese New Year Party and some students’ performance on January 20^th.    This week, I started to introduce Taiwan Aboriginal culture and dancing to kids, and they love it! The second graders will do the dancing on that day. 

For the dancing, students are expected to wear anything which looks like aboriginals/(Indians). Besides, they are encouraged to do some facial paintings and put on some other decorations, like necklaces, feathers, etc.  If students can’t find anything alike to wear, they could simply dress mainly in “red”.  Please start to prepare for it.

Week16--

December 2ed, we had a wonderful Christmas Party! Thanks to all the parents who helped with it! I've posted the class photos onto this blog. You are welcomed to take a look or download them. I look forward to see you on January 3rd. Happy New Year!!

Week 15 news

Next Wednesday(Nov. 30th), we'll have the Block 4 Math Test(Place Value 1-1000). Please be ready for that!

Next Friday, we'll have a Christmas Party in the afternoon. Then, we'll be off track for one month!

Week 14 News

Things we did this week:
Chinese--We almost finished L10. While I was teaching L10, I had kids find out where those phrases are and circle them, than draw a little picture next to each phrase. Besides, we did some body movement and gestures while we were practicing reading. (We had fun with that! ) Hopefully, that'll help kids remember more about what they have learnt from school.
Math--We worked on "Place Value to 1000".(Thanks to Mrs. Milne for cutting all the base ten cards for the class! We really appreciate your help!)
Interconnection-- We talked about different life in Cambodia, which is very different form life in USA.
Up Coming Events:
Thanksgiving is coming next week! Remember we'll have Thursday and Friday off, and kids will go home at 1:55 on Wednesday. I wish you all have a great Thanksgiving!!

Week 13--Thank you all for coming to the Parent-Teacher Conference!!

Dear Parents,
I'm so glad that I finally got the chance to meet with you this Wednesday and Thursday. Thank you all for coming! And thank you for willing to help your kid with their Chinese learning which is not so easy. I appreciate all you do! If you have any suggestion or question, please feel free to contact me!
Recently I've received all the "Media Release Form" form all my parents. That means I could post some class photos on my blog!~~~YA!~~~

Week 12- We had a great Halloween!

This Monday, we had a wonderful Halloween!!! Thank to many parents that came for help with our Halloween party! We appreciate it!
(I took lots of pictures on that day and I really want to share with you through posting on this blog. However, I haven't got all of the "Media Release Form" from parents. Only 80% came back to me. )


Our first Parent-Teacher Conference is coming on next Wednesday and Thursday.
I'm looking forward to meet you!

Week 10-11

Things We did:
Chinese: Students are getting better in Chinese Character wring while we kept practicing on this.
Math: We have been working on Place Value during these weeks.
Interconnection: Google Earth introduction.
Reminders:
Please make sure your child don't bring any toy (ex. pokeman cards, football, etc.) to school.
Upcoming Events: 
We'll have Banchmark 1 Text on November 1st, and Parent-Teacher Conference on November 9th and 10th.
